This letter is in reference to Joyce Giasson’s letter titled “We aren’t in charge,” (Feb. 17). I am in total agreement with her. Joyce’s letter brought up many good points.

The recent marches for peace outdid the ones I remember in the ’60s. How can our elected officials ignore such overwhelming evidence that the majority does not want war?

Personally, I cannot believe that I am in agreement with France.

However, I have little doubt that President Bush will go through with his plans to invade Iraq. He has got to do it. He will lose face if he does not do it!

How many over-inflated egos have started wars?

Has anyone noticed that during the election process our elected officials tell us what they are going to do for us. Once the ballots have been counted and they report to their elective office, it is business as usual.

It is not, “I am voting for this because the majority of my constituents want me to vote for it.”

It is, “voting the party line.”
