JAY – The Police Department has set two dates for an ATV course. The first class will be Saturday, April 19, at the Police Department. The second class will be Saturday, April 26, in the Community Building. A parent or guardian must accompany children 10 to 12 years of age, the spokesman said.

Anyone interested in taking the training course is being asked to contact Special Investigations Officer Russell Adams at 897-6766

The Police Department has purchased a Honda ATV from Eagles Sport Shop and had a trailer custom-built for it. The ATV will be used to patrol the town’s ATV trails.

The department plans to be very proactive with the ATV program this summer to help ensure a safe summer for all who use the town’s trails, a spokesman said.

The ATV and trailer were acquired with grant money from the Maine Outdoor Heritage Fund at no cost to the town.
