LEWISTON — Robert A. Tancrede, 78, of 38 Jefferson St. died Thursday, April 3, at C.M.M.C.

Born in Lewiston Nov. 29, 1924, the son of Arthur and Theodora Bergeron Tancrede he was educated in Lewiston schools. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and worked as a carpenter.

He enjoyed making prayer beads for the misson. Mr. Tancrede was a member of Ss. Peter & Paul’s Parish, Disable American Veterans Emilien Hamann Chapter and La Rencontre.

He is survived by his wife the former, Delia Bedard of Lewiston whom he married April 19, 1947; a son, Ronald Tancrede and wife Eileen of Fla.; three daughters, Pauline Fraser and husband Ralph of Greene, Paulette Picard and husband Gerard of Auburn, Patricia Roy and husband Paul of Greene; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Albert (Rita) Landry, Anita Paradis, all of Lewiston, Mrs. Robert (Stella) D’Amour of Fla., Mrs. Gerard (Priscilla) Roy of Colo.; a sister-in-law, Anita Tardif of Fla.

He was predeceased by a sister, Mrs. Rudolphe (Carmen) Poirier.
