GORHAM — Junior midfielder Katie Sheridan tallied five goals, including the game-winner, and added an assist to lead Plymouth State to a 16-3 women’s lacrosse triumph over Southern Maine.

in the Little East Conference opener for both teams.

The two sides played to a scoreless draw through the opening seven minutes before senior midfielder Jill Matteson coverted a feed from Sheridan to give Plymouth State (4-2, 1-0) the edge. Freshman Bethany Brown scored four goals, while Julie Shields and Michelle Norton each added two for the Panthers.
