BOSTON (AP) – A 31-year old man was fatally shot and a 20-year old woman was in critical condition after shooting broke out early Sunday morning at a house in the city’s Dorchester neighborhood.

Police responded to a report of a person shot at about 6:25 a.m. Elijah Muse was pronounced dead at the scene. Angela Pina was taken to Boston Medical Center, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Police said Muse and Pina lived together at the house and an adult relative had heard the sounds of an argument coming from their room before hearing gunshots. A gun was recovered at the scene.

Police said they weren’t looking for any suspects in the case and Muse’s death was not considered a homicide.

No further details were released on what happened.

Police spokeswoman Mariellen Burns said the couple had had a troubled relationship.

“There’s a history of domestic violence, him against her, with her being the victim,” she said.

She had no comment on whether the case was an attempted murder-suicide.
