SOUTH PARIS – Randi Arsenault racked up 11 strikeouts and walked one, to lead Oxford HIlls to a 5-1 season-opening win over Medonak Valley Monday.

The Vikings (1-0) were led by Becky Pinkham, who hit a single and double. Janaya Millett added two singles and an RBI in the the fourth inning, and Bailey Halloway chipped in with a double.

Medomak’s lone run came off an error late in the seventh inning.

Leavitt 10, Skowhegan 0

TURNER – Beth Ellis hit an RBI double, the only extra base of the game, to lead Leavitt to a dominating 10-0 win against Skowhegan 10-0 in softball action.

Sam St. Hilaire pitched for the Hornets (1-0), striking out 14 hitters.

Skowhegan catcher Margaux Shute had both hits for the Indians. Skowhegan left runners stranded on second and third base in consecutive innings.

Edw Little 14, Cheverus 4

AUBURN – Krista Wotherspoon and Kendra Keene each hit a double as Edward Little rolled past Cheverus 14-4 in opening day action Monday.

Britany Short pitched until the fifth inning for the Eddies (1-0), when Jenn Verill stepped in. Together, the two pitchers combined for eight strikeouts and two walks.

Kenn Kraskowski and Vanessa Burch split time on the mound for the Cheverus.

St. Dom’s 14, Waynflete 0

PORTLAND – Erica Dorso cranked out a triple, went 3-for-5, and recorded three RBIs to lead St. Dom’s to a 14-0 win over Waynflete Monday afternoon.

Emily Goss went 2-for-3, with a double, and knocked in two runs. Illissa Vallee and Tiffany Caron each hit a double and recorded one RBI.

Audrey Pleau started the game, recording four strikeouts in her four innings, and giving up one hit to record the win. Amanda Collette finished up, striking out eight and also giving up one hit.
