LEWISTON — Kathryn King of Turner participated in the Career Discovery Internship Program at Bates College.

King worked with Nancy Walker, Bates class of 1964, a teacher at Pine Valley Psychiatric School, Chapel Hill, N.C.

King, a sophomore, is the daughter of Neal and Kathryn King. She is a member of the women’s basketball and outdoor track teams, is a Leadership Academy volunteer and participated in a summer internship with the Collaborative Refugee Services Program in 2002. King is a 2001 graduate of Leavitt Area High School.

The program is held annually during Bates’ winter vacation and provides students at the liberal arts college with opportunities to look into career areas, make job contacts and learn about certain businesses and professions.
