1911 – 2003

LEWISTON – Willie J.B. Soucy, 91, of 37 Buttonwood Lane, Lewiston, died Wednesday, April 23, at the d’Youville Pavilion, where he had resided for one week.

Born in Lewiston on June 7, 1911, he was the son of Jean Baptiste and Marie Rousseau Soucy. Educated in local schools, he was employed as a salesman for various local firms, retiring from Northern Utilities in 1968.

On May 3, 1936, he was married to the former Diana B. Faucher, who passed away on Aug. 13, 1966. A member of Ss. Peter & Paul Parish and the American Legion, Post 22, he enjoyed photography, fishing, and music, playing the clarinet in his younger years.

Survivors include a son, Paul and wife Linda of Lewiston; a daughter who served as his personal caregiver for many years, Marie I. Soucy of Lewiston; a granddaughter, Corrina and husband Tom Goentzel; two great-grandchildren, Kelsey and Logan; and a sister-in-law, Ruth Soucy.

He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Brandy; a brother, Arthur; and a sister, Ida Leclair.
