1913 – 2003

ROXBURY – Elva Viola Desrosiers, 89, widow of Aime Desrosiers, of 220 Franklin St., Concorde Apartments, Rumford, died Thursday, April 24, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Priscilla and Ted Gotto in Roxbury.

Born in Rumford, June 6, 1913, the daughter of Alfred J. and Rose Simoneau Mercier, she was a communicant of St. Athanasius St. John Church.

Mrs. Desrosiers was educated in local Rumford schools. She was retired from Boise Cascade Paper Group of Rumford, where she had worked in the janitorial department.

She will be remembered as an avid fisherman who loved the out-of-doors. She was very proud of her family and loved all babies and children. She had a great sense of humor and enjoyed a good joke, but most of all she was kind and loved by all who knew her.

Survivors include two daughters, Priscilla and her husband, Ted Gotto of Roxbury and Barbara Wrigley of Feeding Hills, Mass.; and a sister, Sr. Yvette Mercier, ssch of Methuen, Mass.

She was predeceased by two sons, Gerald and Peter; a daughter, Eleanor Arlene; six brothers, Sylvain, Clodomir, David, Bertrand, Joffre and Roland; and three sisters, Gertrude Fraser, Sr. Paula Mercier and Clarisse MacDonald.
