1928 – 2003

LEWISTON – Priscilla B. Chasse, 75, formerly of 1211 Sabattus St., Lewiston died Wednesday, April 23, at d’Youville Pavilion, following a long illness.

Born in Van Buren, Jan. 19, 1928, the daughter of Patrick and Emelda (Fournier) Beaulieu, she attended school in Grand Isle, where her family lived until the early 1940s when they moved to Lewiston.

She married Henry S. Chasse on June 18, 1949. She was employed at Bates Manufacturing Co. for 43 years, where she worked as an inspector, quality controller and grader.

She was a hard worker, kind, dependable, loving and cheerful person always ready to help. She radiated pleasure with everyone working with her. Her greatest pleasure in life was her four granddaughters.

Mrs. Chasse was a past president of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 22. She also held other office positions in the unit. She was a past president of the Androscoggin County Council of the American Legion Auxiliary, a former member of 8140 Salon 245 and a member of Holy Family Church.

Survivors include her husband of 54 years of Lewiston; one daughter, Diane Tardif and her husband, Edward of Sabattus; one son, Daniel Chasse and his wife, Nancy of Lewiston; four granddaughters, Vicki Tardif and her husband, Eric Richard of Sudbury, Mass., Laura Tardif of Somerville, Mass., Karen Hughes and her husband, Steven of Lewiston and Kimberly Chasse of Lewiston; one great-grandson, Hunter Hughes of Lewiston; two sisters, Julie Tremont of Connecticut and Theresa Parent of Lisbon; three brothers, James (Leo) Levasseur of Lisbon, Oniel (Buz) Levasseur Jr. of Florida and Ronald Levasseur of Arizona; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her mother and father; her stepfather, Oniel Levasseur; one sister, Freada Hewey; and four brothers, Fernand Beaulieu, Elmer Beaulieu, Roland (Pete) Levasseur and Roger Levasseur.
