1908 – 2003

LEWISTON – Susan E. Moore, 95, a longtime resident of Livermore, died Saturday, April 26 at St. Mary’s Hospital, following a long illness.

She was born in Hollis on April 16, 1908, the daughter of Zenas and Sara A. Ridlon Whitten. She was a 1927 graduate of Thornton Academy.

On April 2, 1928, she married William Dwight Moore at the Livermore Methodist Church in Livermore. He passed away on January 24, 1964.

Mrs. Moore was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a 50-year charter member of the Grange and a member of the Methodist Church of Livermore and the Ladies Circle “As You Like It Club.” She enjoyed flowers and knitting.

She is survived by two sons and their wives, Hartley and Annie Moore of Livermore, and Everett and Louise Leavitt of Livermore; two daughters, Helen Nichols of Livermore Falls and Mary Fish and her husband, Walter, of Hartford; a son-in-law, Vinton Hutchins of North Turner; 16 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by two daughters, Lillian Ruby and Jean Hutchins; a brother, Leroy Whitten; and a son-in-law, Franklin Nichols.
