1926 – 2003

LEWISTON – Germaine V. Robinson, 77, formerly of 425 Main St., Lewiston, died Monday, April 28, at the d’Youville Pavilion Nursing Home.

Mrs. Robinson had been a resident at the d’Youville Pavilion for only the past few weeks, and had resided at the Lamp Nursing Home in Lisbon for the past two years.

Born in Drummond, N.B., Canada, on April 6, 1926, she was one of the 13 children of Leonard and Albertine Caron Violette. Her family moved to the Lewiston area when she was very young and she attended local schools.

In 1943 she was married to John Robinson, better known as the “Round Robin,” a sportswriter and editor at the Sun-Journal for many years. Mr. Robinson passed away in 1984.

A hairdresser, she owned and operated Germaine’s Beauty Salon on Main Street in Lewiston for many years. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Parish, and was active in the Rosary Sodality and the St. Vincent de Paul Society.

Survivors include five sisters, Jeannine and husband Richard Hess of Port Edwards, Wisc., Gertrude Murphy of Concord, NH, Doris Lalemand of Turner, Blanche “Vickie” LeRiche and husband Alfred of Lewiston and Laura Montgomery of Moodus, Conn.; and many nieces and nephews.
