1918 – 2003

ANTELOPE, Calif. – Florence H. Guerrette, 85, of 4904 Fanwood Way, Antelope, Calif., died April 28, of complications from a recent stroke following a long illness.

She was born on April 11, 1918, the daughter of Herman and Florence (Bonneau) Koss in Auburn.

She loved music and was mostly self taught organist. She loved to read, and was also a Church member of St. Clare’s Catholic Church in Roseville, Calif. She had been a long standing member of St. Joseph’s Parish in Lewiston when she lived here. She had been educated in the Auburn schools, and attended Edward Little High School. She was a loving mother and will be missed greatly.

She married Antonio “Tony” Guerrette on June 29, 1940, in New York. He passed away in June of 1960. She is survived by two brothers, Lionel Koss of Lewiston, and Raymond Koss of Millbridge; she has four children, Andy Guerrette of Corona, Calif., and his wife Colleen, Phil Guerrette of Bethel, Conn., and his wife Claudette, Genie Rose Smith of Antelope, Calif., and her husband Fred, and Helen J. Crockett of Lewiston; she has nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, with another expected in three weeks.

She was predeceased by a sister, Alice Reynolds; and two brothers, Frank Koss, and Herman Koss.
