Steve Robert, Adam Buckingham and Troy Jannelle lead the Raiders to a 12-7 victory.
SOUTH PARIS – Steve Robert tallied three goals and added an assist and Adam Buckingham added two goals and four assists as Oak Hill surged past Oxford Hills 12-7 in boys’ lacrosse action Saturday.
Troy Jannelle added two goals for the Raiders (3-2), while Ed Viera and Tim Kothe lead the Vikings (0-5) with three goals and two goals, respectively.
Nick Sirois picked up the win in net for Oak Hill, turning aside 12 shots.
Mt. Blue 16, Morse 3
BATH – Buzzy Cyr drilled four goals and added three assists to lead Mt. Blue to a convincing 16-3 win over Morse in KVAC lacrosse action Saturday afternoon.
The Cougars (5-0) Ben Sinclair and Luke Ferreira each added a hat trick in the lopsided win.
Freeman Scott needed only four saves to record the victory.
The Shipbuilders goals came from Rick Alexander, David Percy, and Jordan Buzzel.
Baseball
Noble 7, Edward Little 1
SOUTH BERWICK – Patrick Hodson drilled an RBI double in the bottom of the first inning sending Noble to a 7-1 win over Edward Little in SMAA baseball action Saturday afternoon.
The Knights scored four unearned runs in the first inning and were never chalenged as Gary Laviolette allowed one run to register the complete game victory, raising his record to 3-0 on the season.
The Red Eddies only extra base hit came from the bat of Rory Flynn who blasted a tripple in the fourth inning. Flynn also accounted for the lone Edward Little run.
Gould 17, Kents Hill 4
BETHEL – Quinn McAllister and Anthony Liberti crushed the ball for a pair of triples and homeruns as they accounted for eight RBIs to lift Gould to a 17-4 rout over Kents Hill in baseball action Saturday.
Kents Hill (6-2) matched Gould’s (6-3) first inning tally in the top of the second, but that would be all the scoring for the visiting team.
Kane Olson came on in the second inning to relieve McAllister and completed the remaining three and two-thirds innings with a no-hit performance for the win.
Portland 9, Lewiston 5
PORTLAND – Jared Baker had the game-winning single in the fourth inning to lift Portland to a 9-5 triumph over Lewiston in SMAA baseball action Saturday.
Despite giving up three runs in the first inning, the Blue Devils (0-8) rallied in the third with four runs for a brief lead. Mike Leclair and Brent Dube each went 3-for-4 for six of the Blue Devil’s seven hits in the contest.
The Bulldogs (7-0) tied up the game in the home half of the third inning and exploded in the next frame. Baker hit his RBI-winning single as the fourth consecutive single of the inning.
Greely 21, Poland 0
POLAND – Ryan Burke poked a single, double and a homerun for four RBIs as Greely stormed past Poland 21-0 in baseball action Saturday.
The Rangers (5-0) scored runs in each of the five-inning run-rule shortened contest. The winning pitcher, Ryan Copp, polished off the game with a fifth inning grand slam.
The Knights (3-2) sent four pitchers to the mound in an effort to cauter the bleeding. Nick Berube took the loss in his first pitching decision of the season.
Softball
Buckfield takes two
GREENVILLE – Danielle Buswell struck out 19 batters in game one as Buckfield swept a doubleheader from Greenville 7-4 and 17-0 to raise their record to 4-0 on the season.
Marci Litchfield rapped three doubles and Mandy Roy added a two bagger to lead the way for the Bucks in the first game.
Game two ended after five innings as Buswell again limited the Lakers from scoring as she allowed two singles.
Charlie Hayes weilded the big stick for the Bucks in gam,e two rocketing a three-run homerun in the third inning for all the runs Buswell would need to record her fourth win of the season.
Hayes added a pair of doubles while Buswell helped her own cause hitting a pair of doubles. Hedi Darling added a double in the win.
Girls’ lacrosse
Brunswick 15,
Mountain Valley 5
RUMFORD – Alison Doughty and Jenna McCabe each scored four goals to help lead Brunswick to a 15-5 victory over Mountain Valley in girls’ lacrosse action Wednesday.
McCabe added three assists for the Dragons (4-0), while Casey Gosselin stopped 12 shots in the victory.
Jess Hanson scored two two goals for the Falcons (2-2) to lead her team in scoring. Brecke Monaghan and Diana Burke shared goaltending duties, stopping a combined 17 shots in the loss.
