BOOTHBAY – Brie Loon threw a one hitter, walking none and racking up 11 strikeouts, to lead Jay to a dominating 15-0 win over Boothbay in softball action Monday afternoon.

Emily Bennett smacked a triple and recorded two RBIs for the Tigers (3-2). Rachel Gagnon hit a double and also recorded two RBIs, while Jenna Fetterhoff had two hits and three RBIs. Loon rounded out the offense with two RBIs as well.

Matty Rideout led the Boothbay Seahawks (0-3) effort with a double.

Leavitt 5, Medonak 1

WALDOBORO – Sam St. Hilaire threw a one-run game, struck out 16 batters, and gave up only two walks to lead Leavitt to a 5-1 win over Medomak Valley in a softball game Monday.

Kristen Healy tripled in the fifth inning and had two RBIs for the undefeated Hornets (8-0) win. Gretchen Conn hit a double for the win.

The Panthers were led by Laura Briggs who hit a triple in the first inning.

St. Dom’s 14, Freeport 2

AUBURN – Audrey Pleau and Emily Goss hit back-to-back triples in the second inning to lead St. Dom’s to a 14-2 win over Freeport Monday in softball play.

Pleau also went 3-for-4, had two runs, and three RBIs. Goss went 1-for-3, had three runs, and two RBIs. Goss also pitched the game, walking two and striking out six for the Saints’ (3-2) win.

The Falcons (1-5) were led by Michelle Peters who doubled. Kerry Blenk took the loss on the mound.

Gorham 10, Poland 3

POLAND – Debbie Drown went 1-for-2 and had two RBIs as Gorham defeated Poland 10-3 in softball action Monday afternoon.

Megan Lapierre struck out two batters for the Rams (5-2).

Poland was led by Megan Ford who hit a double and had two RBIs for the Knights (2-4).

Telstar 11, Madison 1

BETHEL – Liz Rosenberg smacked a triple and a double to lead Telstar to an 11-1 win over Madison in Mountain Valley Conference softball action Monday afternoon.

Jilliam Kimball, Krystle Gould, Lauren Hart, Meagan Lunney, and Jessie Farrington each hit a double for the Rebels (3-1).

The Madison Bulldogs (4-1) were led by Georgia Harlow with a double.

Mt. Blue 4, Brunswick 2

FARMINGTON – Dawn Kelley had two RBIs in the first inning as Mt. Blue slipped past Brunswick 4-2 Monday afternoon.

Kelley scored on a passed ball from third. The pitcher also struckout three batters for the Cougars (3-6).

Brunswick (4-5) was led by pitcher Chelsea Blais who struck out five.

Oak Hill 6, Erskine 3

SOUTH CHINA – Julie Lizotte launched her first career home run in the first inning and tallied a pair of doubles to lift Oak Hill to a 6-3 win over Erskine Academy in KVAC softball action Monday.

Kandi Ames and Danielle Sargent also contributed doubles for the Raiders (6-2). Lizotte earned the pitching victory in addition to her superb plate performance.

Calley Thomas and Kellie Gerrard were the standout hitters for Erskine (5-3).

Winthrop 10, Livermore Falls 1

WINTHROP – Heather Babb smacked a two-run homer in the first inning to start the ball rolling as Winthrop defeated Livermore Falls 10-1 in softball action Monday.

Hannah Salois went 3-for-4 and had two RBIs, while Katie Wing hit a triple for the Ramblers (2-2).

Wing threw a three-hitter and struck out 10 batters.

Livermore Falls (2-3) was led by Jen Smith who hit an RBI double for the Andies’ lone score.

Oxford Hills 10, Waterville 1

SOUTH PARIS – Natasha Dubois hit a double and a triple as Oxford Hills beat Waterville 10-1 in KVAC softball action Monday.

Kristy Bunce, Chelsea Cummings and Amber Millett all doubled for the Vikings. Randi Arsenault struck out six for the win on the mound.

Misty Bickford had an RBI double in the third inning, bringing in the lone run of the game for Waterville.

Monmouth 8, Mountain Valley 1

MONMOUTH – Emily Gauthier pitched a complete game on Monday, allowing just one run on four hits, to lead Monmouth Academy to an 8-1 victory over Mountain Valley in softball.

Gauthier had eight strikeouts for the Mustangs (2-1) and also rapped a couple of hits to help the offense.

Kristen Nicols took the loss on the hill for the Falcons (1-3).

Lacrosse
Gould 16, Kents Hill 5

BETHEL – Betsy Caraboolad rifled off six goals to catapult Gould to a 16-5 win over Kents Hill in lacrosse action Monday.

The Gould Huskies (7-2) scored a deca in the first half of the contest. Mallory Ricker had four goals, while Kate Fitzgerald and Shula Bien notched a hat trick apiece. Active teamwork with plenty of passing and well executed quick shots provided Gould with momentum.

Stephanie Tewksbury led the scoring for the Kents Hill Huskies (1-3) with a hat trick. Liz Mehr and Allie Hurd scored a goal apiece in the loss.

Sanford 7, Hebron 3

SANFORD – Barb Ouellette tallied four goals and Abby Houston added three as Sanford downed Hebron 7-3 in girls’ lacrosse action Monday.

Abby Courtney stopped 10 of 13 shots for the Redskins (3-3) to help preserve the win.

Shannon Kearney, Laura Meyer and Nina Planson all scored for Hebron (0-10), while Helen Unger made 19 saves on 26 shots in net.
