Volunteers needed

FARMINGTON – Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice is seeking volunteers for its grocery shopping and visiting programs. Grocery volunteers shop and deliver groceries to a homebound patient. A two-hour training program, provided by AHCH, is conducted at the volunteer’s convenience. The weekly time commitment is approximately one to two hours. Visiting volunteers provide companionship and support to patients recovering from illness. Depending on the need, volunteers may spend time talking with a patient, playing card games or doing crafts, reading, running errands or staying with a patient for a few hours while the caregiver enjoys some time away from home. Visiting volunteers dedicate two to four hours per week and complete a four-hour training program provided by AHCH. These two programs provide an opportunity to those who have limited time but would like to contribute to the needs of their community. Other AHCH volunteer opportunities include hospice, transportation, office and bereavement work. For more information about volunteer opportunities, contact Polly Robinson or Nancy Greene at 1-800-482-7412 or 777-7740.
