CASCO – Carmen R. Akers, 92, of Edwards Road, died Tuesday morning, May 6, at the Bridgton Hospital, after a brief illness.

Born in Lewiston, a daughter of Auguste and Antonia Chevalier Roy, Mrs. Akers had been employed by A.G. Edwards, Clark Shoe, Bonafide Mills and most recently at Dielectric Communications in Raymond.

She was a 1948 charter member of the Sunshine Club. Mrs. Akers was predeceased by her husband Clifford Akers Sr. in December of 1992.

Surviving are two sons, Clifford Jr. of Casco and Ronald and his wife, Pamela of Casco; her granddaughter, Rebecca Taplin of Yarmouth; four grandsons, Randall of Windham, Ronald of Portland, Christopher of Casco and Davian John of Casco; and five great-grandchildren.
