1913 – 2003

BERLIN, N.H. – Florence D. (Demers) Therrien, 89, of 421 Main St., Berlin, N.H., passed away on Wednesday, May 7, at Androscoggin Valley Hospital, where she was a patient.

Born in Berlin, N.H., Aug. 16, 1913, the daughter of Alfred and Augustine Mailhot Demers, she was a lifelong resident of Berlin.

Mrs. Therrien was a member of St. Anne of Good Shepherd Parish. She was active in many areas and was a member of the Ladies of St. Anne of Guardian Angel, the Living Rosary, the Holiday Center, R.S.V.P., the former Joliette Snowshoe Club of Berlin, the Snowshoe Club Les Paresseux of Rumford, the Golden Age Club, the St. Anne Social Club and the St. Stanislaus Social Club.

Prior to her retirement she had been employed at the White Mountain Chalet for 23 years and had worked as a nurses’ aide at the St. Louis Hospital in Berlin for four years. Her husband, Ralph Therrien, died in 1972.

Survivors include one son, Norman A. Therrien and his wife, Denise of Manchester, N.H.; two grandchildren, Michael Therrien of Manchester, N.H., and Hera Zishan of Manchester, N.H.; four great-grandchildren, Michelle Therrien of Manchester, N.H., Matthew Therrien of Manchester, N.H., Hamza Zishan of Manchester, N.H., and Huzefa Zishan of Manchester, N.H.; one sister, Imelda Landry of Berlin, N.H.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, her parents and two sisters, Irma Desilets and Alice Michaud.
