WILTON – Planners will hold a public hearing to discuss a proposed subdivision ordinance when they meet Thursday.
The meeting begins at 7 p.m. and the public hearing will be held at 7:15 p.m. at the town office.
The town currently has no subdivision ordinance, but does have 19 state criteria by which it can review them. That criteria, however, does not spell out the details of what would be required of an applicant.
The board has been working on putting together the ordinance for about two months. The new ordinance will be in line with state guidelines. The proposal will be brought before voters at their annual town meeting next month.
Planners will consider two new applications. Urban West wants to place a new garage within 75 feet of an intermittent stream on Route 2.
The garage will be no closer than the one it will be replacing. Rick Rhea has also submitted an application for a low density subdivision on Swett Road.
In other business, planners will discuss when it is legal to use asphalt in fill, a violation on Main Street, and a proposed ordinance relating to house boats.
