SKOWHEGAN – Kristen Healy ripped an RBI single in the top of the eighth inning to lift Leavitt to a 1-0 win over Skowhegan in KVAC softball action Wednesday.

Sam St. Hilaire had tripled with one out then scooted home on Healey’s hit. St. Hilaire also earned her 10th shutout of the season for the undefeated Hornets (12-0), fanning 16 batters in eight innings.

Valerie Derouche led the way for Skowhegan (8-4) with a double. Janis Blake went the distance and took the loss.

Dirigo 5, Madison 4

MADISON – Angie Fenstermacher knocked out a home run in the second inning as Dirigo snuck past Madison 5-4 Wednesday afternoon in MVC softball action.

Ashley Stone hit two singles for the Cougars (8-2) in the win and Fentsermacher recorded one strikeout and one walk.

Lewiston 9, Windham 4

LEWISTON – Base hits by Katie Morin and Ali Coleman ignited a six-run fourth inning as Lewiston rolled past Windham 9-4 in an SMAA softball matchup Wednesday.

Kim Godin took the mound in the fourth and earned her fifth win of the season.

St. Dom’s 11, Sacopee 0

SOUTH HIRAM – Amanda Collette allowed two hits in seven innings to lead St. Dom’s to a 11-0 shutout win over Sacopee Valley.

Kat Vincent went 2-for-4 for the Saints (7-3), highlighted by a double and two RBIs.

Erin Delea led the way for Sacopee Valley (9-1) with a double, and also took the loss after pitching the entire game.

Oxford Hills 7

Medomak Valley 2

WALDOBORO – Bailey Holloway hit two singles and recorded three RBIs to lead Oxford Hills to a 7-2 win over Medomak Valley Wednesday in KVAC softball action.

The Vikings (7-5) ended the seventh inning with a double play on one out with the bases loaded for the Panthers (5-7).

Winslow 9, Oak Hill 3

WINSLOW – Amanda Roy hit an RBI double in the first inning and Beth LaFountain smacked an RBI double in the sixth to lead Winslow to a 9-3 win over Oak Hill Wednesday.

Emily Grondin hit an RBI to lead off both the fourth and sixth innings for Oak Hill, while Jill Lizotte hit an RBI double in the fourth for the Raiders (7-4).

Edward Little 12, Chevrus 0

PORTLAND – Kendra Keene smacked three hits, one of them a home run, to lead Edward Little to a 12-0 win over Cheverus in SMAA softball action Wednesday.

Lauren Hussar chipped in with two hits and three RBIs for the Red Eddies.

Monmouth 11, Carrabec 2

MONMOUTH – Jessica Gray smacked a double and recorded three RBIs to lead Monmouth to an 11-2 victory over Carrabec Wednesday afternoon.

With the help of strong defense and timely scoring opportunites, Chantel Saucier earned her first win today on the mound for Monmouth (3-3).

Mountain Valley 6

Wiscasset 5

WISCASSET- Kriten Arsenault pounded an RBI double in the top of the seventh inning and later scored the winning run to lead Mountain Valley to a 6-5 win over Wiscasset Wednesday.

Wiscasset catcher Jenny Green was superb defensively for the Redskins.

Thornton 12, Oxford Hills 5

SOUTH PARIS – Ashley Peterson and Emma Binnie netted four goals each to propel Thornton to a 12-5 victory over Oxford Hills in lacrosse action Wednesday.

McKayla Bell led the way for the Vikings (5-2) with three goals, while Jaime Proulx and Abigail Bunnell scored one each.

Gould 8, Hebron 3

BETHEL – Kate Fitzgerald found the back of the net five times to lead Gould to an 8-3 win over Hebron in the Maine Prep School semifinals Wednesday.

Katie Reed, Sara Vette, and Betsy Caraboolad each added a goal to the Huskies (9-3) win, while Fitzgerald and Keri Gilbert each recorded an assist.

Shannon Kearney paced Hebron with two goals, while Maddy Campbell chipped in with the third.
