RUMFORD – A motorcyclist escaped with minor injuries after crashing into a utility pole Wednesday morning.
Rumford police officer James Bernard said Edward Grissom, 37, of Mexico, was driving down Lincoln Avenue at about 9:30 a.m. when he apparently lost control of his 1982 Harley Davidson.
He skidded across the opposite lane and crashed into a utility pole.
Bernard said Grissom sustained a fractured wrist and abrasions. He was transported to Rumford Hospital by Med-Care Ambulance Service where he was treated and released.
The Harley, valued at several thousand dollars, was demolished.
