MONMOUTH – Amy Parssons drilled a pair of hits including a double to lead Monmouth to a 8-3 win over WMC rival Mt. Abram in softball action Saturday.
Sarah Bubier added a double in the win for the Vikings (6-3), while Emily Gauthier logged the win with a complete game effort.
Sarah Martin and Lanie Roy paced the Roadrunners (4-7) with a double each.
Buckfield sweeps two
JACKMAN – Buckfield exploded for 46 hits as they swept Forest Hills 16-1 and 28-7 Saturday afternoon.
Danielle Buzwell notched the win in Game One allowing two hits while helping her own cause with a double, Shayna Shackford also chipped in with a double in game one.
Game Two saw another offensive outburst from the Bucks (8-2) as they scored 28 runs on 28 hits. Hedi Darling led the offense with a pair of doubles, while Marci Litchfield chipped in with a double. Charlee Hayes, Mandy Roy and Shackford rounded out the offense with triples in the lopsided win.
Desirae Brackett picked up her first win of the season going the distance in the nightcap.
Hall-Dale 9, Livermore Falls 1
LIVERMORE FALLS – Christian Lachapelle pummeled the ball for a double and a pair of triples to fuel Livermore Falls to a 9-1 MVC softball victory over Hall-Dale Saturday afternoon.
The Bulldogs (7-4) garnered a pair of runs in each of the first three innings and capped off their scoring run with three in the fourth. Lachapelle also picked up the pitching victory with five strikeouts and only walking one.
Danielle Gray had two of the Andies (3-7) four hits in the loss.
Noble 8, Edward Little 2
AUBURN – Carrie Coffin hit a solo shot in the seventh inning to cap a robust Noble, 8-2, win over Edward Little in SMAA softball actin Saturday.
The Knights (8-3) had erased a two-run deficit in the first inning with three in the second, before unleashing four runs in the sixth frame.
Kendra Keene led the offense for the Red Eddies (6-5) with a double.
Lacrosse
Freeport 13, Oxford Hills 9
SOUTH PARIS – Amy Rowe scored five goals and Molly Charest added four goals to lift Freeport to a 13-9 win over Oxford Hills in girl’s lacrosse action Saturday afternoon.
Kelley Mehlar and Sarah Ageri added a pair of goals for the Falcons (5-4).
The Vikings (6-4) were paced by McKayla Bell, Meridith Hendricks, and Jaimi Proux who each tallied a pair of goals.
Hyde 9, Gould 8
BETHEL – Meddy Hurd netted the winning goal with 2:00 left to overtime to lift Hyde to a 9-8 victory over Gould in girls’ lacrosse action Saturday.
Hurd was responsible for eight of Hyde’s (8-1) nine goals.
Sara Velte led the way for Gould (9-4) with four goals, while Betsy Caraboolad pitched in with a pair. Katie Reed and Kate Fitzgerald chipped in with a goal apiece in the loss.
