PORTLAND – Conrad R. Roux, 72, of Virginia Street in Portland, died Monday, May 19, at his home with his family by his side.

He was born in Lewiston, a son of Roland R. and Eveline C. (Caron) Roux. He was educated in Lewiston schools, and was a graduate of Lewiston High School, class of 1950.

He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.

He was employed for 20 years with the New England Telephone Co., retiring as a toll supervisor.

He enjoyed doing family genealogy, photography, woodcarving, and lapidary work.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Joan Sirois Roux of Portland; two daughters, Leslie K. Roux of Framingham, Mass., and Cynthia A. Rand of Rumford; a son, Eric C. Roux and his wife Victoria of Framingham, Mass; a sister, Yolande Gagne of Lewiston; three grandchildren, Kristin Ramsdell, Brycelyn Roux and Sophie Roux.

He was predeceased by a son, Scott M. Roux in 1983.
