LEWISTON – Cross Insurance earned a pair of victories in recent action in the Major Division.

Cris Jacques and Cody Lessard collected 3 hits each as the Insurancemen beat Reed Distributors 8-3. Casey Parker added 2 safeties. Max Lessard and Parker shared the pitching duties. Greg Labonte ripped a double and triple for Reed.

Cross Insurance also trimmed Dube Flower 9-4 as Alex Parker hurled a 4-hitter, striking out 6, over 4 innings. Jacques got the save. David Ouellette sparked the offense with 2 hits and made a fine catch in centerfield. Frank Welch was a repeat hitter for Dube. Ben Wigant legged out a triple.

AUBURN – Auburn Firefighters collected 3 wins in recent games in the Major Division. AFF edged Austin 6-5 as Billy Brewster and Shawn Hird both rapped 2 hits, including a triple. Conner Anthoine had a key hit and scored twice. Devon Flynn doubled for Austin. . . Eric Bonawitz drilled 3 hits, including a pair of triples, to power AFF to a 10-3 victory over Hudson Bus. Mark Anthoine added 2 hits. Nathaniel Sipe hurled 4 strong innings. C.J. Bergeron whacked a 2-bagger for Hudson. . . AFF also defeated Pepsi 10-4 as Brewster collected 3 hits, including a double and triple. Hird and Conner Anthoine added 2 safeties each. Matt Barlion socked 3 hits for Pepsi.
