1929 – 2003

RUMFORD – Robert J. “Bob” Boudreau, 73, of 23 Erchles St., Rumford, passed away quietly Wednesday at the Rumford Community Hospital with his family at his side.

He was born in Mexico, on July 27, 1929, the son of Benjamin and Elizabeth (Bernard) Boudreau. A graduate of St. Theresa’s School in Mexico, he later obtained his high school diploma at Stephen’s High School in Rumford.

“Bob” served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II and the Korean War with pride. He was a member of the Board of Directors of the Oxford Federal Credit Union for over 30 years. He was also a member of the Chisolm Ski Club for over 40 years.

He ran many races for the Middle School “kids” and helped coach the ski jumping. He also worked on high school races.

Being a member of the Rumford Community Center, he was a charter working person in obtaining the swimming pool.

He was also a valid working member of the Stephen’s Alumni Assoc.

He saw the completion of the Stephen’s High School Memorial.

He enjoyed skiiing, ski jumping, mountain climbing, swimming, kayaking and the Yankees were his joys, plus his love of carpentry. As was his saying “Never Fear – Bobby’s Here,” and he always will be. After 49 years of employment with the local paper company he retired from Boise Cascade.

He was a member of the Robert Shand Post 1641 VFW and the Napoleon Ouellette Post 24 American Legion. He was also a communicant of St. Athanasius – St. John Church. He was a familiar figure doing volunteer work. A fixer-upper for the neighborhood kids – they knew his phrase “Neeno-Nanno, Noono.

He was married in Rumford, on Oct. 13, 1956 to Marie Saisi who survives of Rumford.

Survivors include his three sons, Randall and Russell Boudreau of Limerick, and Ryan Boudreau of Dover, NH; three sisters, Rose Marie Watson of Windham, Geraldine Boudreau of Lewiston, and Theresa Ronan of Rumford.

He was predeceased by four brothers, Ivan, Gerry, Aime and Fernando; four sisters, Geralda Boudreau, Flora Cormier, Martha Delepine, Donalda Rancourt; and his parents.
