1937 – 2003

LEWISTON – Weldon E. Poland, 66, of West Paris died Thursday, May 22, at Central Maine Medical Center.

He was born in Palmer, Mass., on March 5, 1937, the son of Elmo Banton and Ruby Curtis Poland. He attended school at Hungry Hollow and the Fox school.

He was a member of the Local Construction Union 327. He was a member of the Mechanic Falls American Legion Post 150 and the Snowshoe Club in Rumford. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating and moose hunting.

He is survived by a daughter, Darleen Waterman of Sumner; two sons, Charles Poland of West Paris and William Poland of South Paris; a brother, Elmo Poland of West Paris; two sisters, Barbara Yeaton of West Paris and Virgilene Leet of Greene; a cousin, Jerri Gay of Portland; and six grandchildren; also by Denise Jackson his last wife of Mechanic Falls; four stepchildren, Rusty Russell of Oxford, Jimmy Russell of Oxford, Roxanne Taylor of Falmouth and Susan Wooden of West Paris; seven stepgrandchildren; also his ex-wives with whom he remained friends, Betty Stanley, Edna Millett, Beverly Pepin and Jackie Durgin.
