AUBURN – Voters will get the chance to say yes or no Wednesday to the general site of the Lake Street Elementary School addition.
The Auburn School Department will hold an informational session and public hearing about site selection for the project, which would dramatically expand the K-3 school. The site would expand to more that twice its current size of 1.88 acres.
After the hearing, an informal straw vote will be held to gauge community acceptance of the site.
Such a vote is required by the Maine Department of Education if the school system receives state aid for the building project.
The hearing will begin at 7 p.m. and will be held at Auburn Middle School.
