SUMNER – Robert E. “Bob” Cone, 72, died Tuesday, May 27, 2003, in Sumner. He was a resident of Upper Sumner Hill.
He was born in Framingham, Mass., on April 28, 1931. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1952 to 1956 and then in the U.S. Air Force from 1957 to 1962. He was proud member of the fire and rescue squad in the military. He worked as a truck driver for Robin Hood Flour and also for Portland Sand and Gravel.
He was a regular nature lover – birds, flowers and sunsets. He was an avid reader with special interests in the history of locomotives.
Survivors include two sons, Eric of Turner and Aaron of South Paris; and a daughter, Therese Cone of South Paris; and his very special companion Corinne Ackley of Sumner.
