1898 – 2003
WATERVILLE – Laura N. Thomas, 105, formerly of Norway, died Tuesday, May 27, 2003, at Lakewood Manor.
Born in Sweden, Maine, March 28, 1898, the daughter of Roswell B. and Cora Abbott Nevers, she was educated in Paris schools.
She was a hotel waitress and worked in several hotels from Montreal, Canada to Florida until 1926 when she married Harold M. Thomas from Norway. They moved to Albany, N.Y., where they lived until Mr. Thomas’ sudden death in 1955. She then moved back to Maine.
Survivors include a nephew, Samuel N. Goddard of China; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a sister, Edith Cleveland of Norway.
