FARMINGTON – The American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life, an event where teams walk or run relay-style in half-hour shifts for 18 hours to raise funds for the American Cancer Society will begin at 6 a.m. Saturday, May 31, at Mount Blue High School. A Cancer Survivor’s kickoff lap will be held at 6 a.m. and a luminaria candlelight ceremony will be held at 10 p.m. Saturday. Funds raised during this event will support the American Cancer Society. Sponsors of this year’s event include Franklin Savings Bank, Sun Journal, Jordan Lumber, WBLM, WHOM, WCYY, WB-51 and UPN-35.

Clothing giveaway

LIVERMORE FALLS – A clothing giveaway will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 31, at Treat Memorial Library. The clothing is free and the event is sponsored by the King’s Daughters and Sons.
