LEWISTON – The Jesus Party’s regularly scheduled Sunday night family services have been canceled for the summer, beginning June 1.

In its place, the ministry will join with the Salvation Army of Lewiston for old-time open-air services at Courthouse Plaza, next to Victor News, every Sunday night from 5:30 to 6 p.m. through Aug. 31.

The meetings will be nondenominational and will provide a time of singing, testimonies and celebration.

The Rev. Douglas E. Taylor, ministry director of the Jesus Party, encourages the faith community of the area to respond to this open invitation to encourage unity in our faith. Taylor hopes that such get togethers could be instrumental in breaking down the barriers that divide denominations.

A special chapel sevice will follow at 6 p.m. at the Salvation Army located at 67 Park St. For more information, contact Capt. John Bennett at 783-0801.
