1931-2003

LEWISTON – Roger H. Morin, 71, of 33 Garcelon St. died Monday, June 2, quietly in his home surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born July 26, 1931, the son of Romeo and Laura Louise Pascal Morin. He was educated in Lewiston schools, graduating from St. Dominic R.H.S., class of 1949, as valadictorian of his class.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1949 to 1952, including a tour of duty in Korea from 1950 to 1951.

He was employed by the U.S. Postal Service for 26 years, retiring in 1991 as superintendant of postal operations for the Lewiston Post Office.

He enjoyed stamp collecting, working on the computer and spending time with his grandchildren. His craftsmanship and woodworking will long be treasured by his family. His values and beliefs were a great inspiration to all.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Yvette J. Gagne of Lewiston; one son, Paul R. Morin and his wife, Claire (Houle), of Wells; one daughter, Claire Sabine of Greene; four grandchildren, Jeffrey Morin, Danielle, Stephen and Elizabeth Sabine, all of Greene. He is also survived by two sisters, Carmen Laganiere of Lewiston and Rita Morin of Waterville. He was predeceased by his brother, Adrian Morin.
