1913-2003

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Sylvia C. Doucette (nee Raymond) died Monday, June 2, 2003 of Salt Lake City, Utah.

She was born on April 10, 1913, in Auburn, to Joseph O. and Clara St. Hilaire Raymond and was the loving wife of the late Conrad R. Doucette (1993). They were married on June 1, 1937 at St. Louis Catholic Church in Auburn. Sylvia lived in Auburn for 67 years. In 1980, she and Conrad retired to Old Orchard Beach, where they had been summer residents for 48 years. They moved to Salt Lake City in 1987 to be near family. She was involved in social and volunteer work at St. Mary’s Hospital in Lewiston, ME for 35 years. She was also president of the Lewiston-Auburn Rotary Anne’s organization, president of the St. Anne’s Sodality of the St. Louis Catholic Church in Auburn, a member of the choir at St. Margaret’s Catholic Church in Old Orchard Beach and a member of the Osteopathic Ladies Auxiliary of Portland.

Sylvia is survived by four sons, Raymond and wife, Bobbie, of Park City, Utah, Paul and wife, Joanne, of Haworth, N.J., Robert and wife, Karen, of Sunnyvale, Calif., and Norman and wife, Anne, of Saluda, Va.; as well as 15 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Felicien Doucette of Auburn; two sisters-in-law, Jean Raymond of Old Orchard Beach and Sylvianne Doucette Lepage of Sunrise, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews.
