LIVERMORE FALLS – A 7-year-old was injured Sunday afternoon after his bicycle collided with the side of a van on Baldwin Street.

The Livermore Falls boy was riding his bike behind the Church of the Nazarene in an empty parking lot, Livermore Falls Police Chief Ernest Steward Jr. said, and went over a small embankment. He couldn’t stop, Steward said, and rode out into the street. He collided with the front side of a van driven by Ann Towle, 43, of Kents Hill.

Police were initially unable to locate the boy’s parents, Steward said. The child was taken by ambulance to a Farmington hospital and later released to his parents.

The boy who lives on Pleasant Street received minor injuries, Steward said.

Lt. Thomas E. Gould estimated that $1,500 damage was done to the 1999 Ford van.
