JAY – Police are investigating a number of incidents including a turkey stolen from a Church Street freezer and criminal mischief at Jay Hill apartments.

Cpl. Jeffrey Fournier is investigating a complaint from a tenant of a Church Street apartment house reporting a frozen turkey stolen from the freezer, police Chief Larry White said.

Officer Eric Goodrow is looking into a report of criminal mischief in which someone removed the drain plug from an engine block of a vehicle and allowed the oil to drain into the parking lot at Jay Hill Apartments. It was also reported that brake fluid was sprayed on the vehicle, White said.

Sgt. Charles Keene responded to a Main Street resident’s report of finding two bicycles in front of her home near North Jay, White said. It was discovered the bikes were stolen from Wilton and police returned them to their owners.

Detective Russell Adams conducted an investigation into the possible assault of a teenager in late April. He summoned Erica Gilpatrick of Jay for allegedly assaulting a 13-year-old girl. The case was referred to police by the Maine Department of Human Services. Gilpatrick is scheduled to appear Thursday, June 12, in Farmington District Court.
