1922 – 2003

LEWISTON – Fleurette C. Berube, 80, of 171 Meadowview Park, died Thursday morning, June 12, at Marshwood Nursing Home.

She was born in Waterville on Dec. 12, 1922, the daughter of Henri and (Irene) Letourneau. She had been a resident of this area for most of her life. She was the widow of Joseph W. Berube Sr. whom she married in 1941 and who died on Oct. 25, 1982.

Mrs. Berube worked for several years at Koss Shoe Co. and later worked for 25 years at Paragon Glass Co. in Lewiston until her retirement. She attended Holy Cross Church and Holy Family Church.

She was an avid ceramic maker, enjoyed fishing, and loved to cook for the Meadowview Apartments Community Center where she participated in many of their activities.

She is survived by her two sons and their wives, Robert L. and Lauren Berube and Joseph W. and Cecile Berube all of Lewiston; five grandchildren, Paul Berube and his wife Ann of Peru/Canton, Dan Berube and his wife Debbie of Lisbon, Suzanne Carney and her husband Ben of Auburn, James Berube of Lewiston, and Angela Gagne and her husband David of Lewiston; many great-grandchildren; two sisters, Jacqueline Lachance of Norridgewock and Ursula Pease of Nevada; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by many brothers and sisters.
