MECHANIC FALLS – Pottle Hill Inc. will hold its 22nd Annual Road Race in the Town Square Saturday, June 28.
This year a barbecue and a craft fair and flea market have been added to the day’s events.
The day will be kicked off by the 1-mile Fun-Run, which starts at 8:30 a.m., followed by the 5K and 10K. The three races help raise funds to support the services offered by Pottle Hill.
Pottle Hill provides services to benefit people with disabilities through the Pottle Works in Mechanic Falls and the W.T. Twarog Senior Enrichment Center in Auburn. The Pottle Works offers vocational services and job training, while the Twarog Center offers services to adults of retirement age. Through the Pottle Works, people with disabilities are able to gain work experience and develop skills and training that might not otherwise be available. The Twarog Center allows people with disabilities an opportunity to further their independence while increasing the personal enjoyment within their lives.
Pottle Hill is seeking sponsors and runners, both of whom will contribute to the success of this year’s Road Race and who will help in the expansion and continuation of Pottle Hill’s services and programs. Donations are deductible to the extent permissible by law.
