1908 – 2003

LEWISTON – Gladys V. Hildreth, 95, the wife of the late Earle C. Hildreth Sr. passed away June 28, at Central Maine Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Webster April 16, 1908, a daughter of George L.and Olive Hamilton Booker.

She attended local area schools and graduated from Lisbon Falls High School in 1925.

In 1929, she married her beloved husband Earle C. Hildreth. They shared 60 wonderful years together, until his passing in 1991.

Gladys enjoyed growing and caring for flowers, and she enjoyed the birds that frequented her back yard. She would often take local daytrips to different parts of Maine and enjoyed all the beauty that surrounded her.

She was a 60-year member of the Pine Tree Grange.

She is survived by one son, Earle Hildreth Jr. and his wife Cynthia of West Bath; two daughters, Erna Smith and her husband Eugene of Lisbon Falls, and Evelyn Hodge and her husband William of Claremont, N.H.; seven grandchildren, E. Charles Smith and his wife Kathy, Eileen Smith-Porter and her husband Greg, E. Carle Hildreth III, Rebekah Hildreth, Ryan Hildreth, Glenn Hodge and his wife Chris, and Janis Hodge; three great-grandchildren, Erin and Katie Porter, and Nathaniel Hodge; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her husband; three brothers, Roland, William and Raymond Booker; one sister, Gracie Belval; and one grandson, Errol Smith.
