1952 – 2003

WELD – Randall T. “Randy” Blodgett, 51, of Dixfield Road, Weld, died unexpectedly from heart failure at his home in Weld on Saturday, June 28.

He was born March 25, 1952, in Rumford, the son of Silas “Barney” and Queenie M. (Swain) Blodgett II. He received his education in Dixfield schools and graduated from Dirigo High School in 1970. For 29 years he was employed at the paper mill in Rumford. He was a paper maker and later an E & I Technician.

He was a member of Mystic Tie Masonic Lodge #154, Weld. An avid outdoorsman, his true passion was hunting. He had a great respect for nature and was committed to maintaining the time-honored family tradition of safe hunting. He also enjoyed working in his garden, snowmobiling, fishing and spending time with his family and friends. He will be remembered as a kind, highly respected individual who served as a patriarch of his family and as a devoted friend to many.

He is survived by his beloved partner of nine years, Terri Cox, of Weld; their three sons, Todd Blodgett and his fiancee Stacey Smith of Dixfield; Silas “Ryan” Blodgett of Brighton, Mass., and Gregory Cox of Weld; his mother, Queenie Blodgett of Dixfield; two sisters, Linda Comeau and her husband Richard of Peru, and Sandra Glazier and her partner Jason McKay of Dixfield; one brother, Derek Blodgett and his fiance Lora Cotton of Auburn; three grandchildren, Austin Blodgett, and Matthew and Michael Smith; three nephews, Brian and Cory Gurney, and Adam McKay; two nieces, Searah Pond and Leah McKay.

He was predeceased by his father, Silas Blodgett; one sister, Tammy Pond; one nephew, Jeremy Blodgett; and one brother-in-law, Robert Gurney.
