1911 – 2003

LEWISTON – Leo Joseph Dumoulin, 92, a former resident of Eaton Hill Road, Rumford, died Sunday afternoon, June 29, at d’ Youville Pavilion following a long illness.

He was born in Notre Dame des Bois, P.Q., Canada, June 21, 1911, the son of Hermenegilde and Amanda Goulet Dumoulin and was educated in schools of P.Q., Canada.

On May 14, 1934 he married the former Marie Paul Baillargeon at St. John’s Church in Rumford. Mr. Dumoulin was employed for many years as a woodsman working for area logging companies and then for 17 years was employed by S.A.D. 43 as a bus driver-custodian retiring in 1973.

He was a member of St. Athanasius St. John Church, L ‘ Union St. Jean Baptiste and was a 4th degree member of Fr. Barry Council K of C. He enjoyed the interest of fishing and spending time with his neighbors and enjoying his many friendships. He loved all children especially his own granddaughter who was very precious to him.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. J. Louise Smith, Port Charlotte; two sons, Father Marcel L. Dumoulin of Fairfield, and Robert J. Dumoulin of Peru; two sisters, Mrs. Lucienne Beaudoin of Montreal, Canada, and Mrs. Fernande Auclair of Theford Mines, P.Q.; one brother, Lucien Dumoulin of Trois Rivieres, P.Q.; and a granddaughter, Miss Jane L. Jacques of Rumford.
