LEWISTON – Rosaire V. “Lefty” Guerrette, 73, a resident of 11 Scribner Circle, Lewiston, died July 1, at Marshwood Rehabilitation Center following a long, courageous battle with lung cancer.

He was born in Frenchville, April 10, 1930, the son of Joseph and Elise Sirois Guerrette and educated in local schools. He served in the U.S. Army in Germany during the Korean conflict. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, deep-sea fishing and being in the company of people.

On June 6, 1970 he married Claire Huard Erskine at Sacred Heart Church in Auburn. He was formerly employed by National Automatic Sprinkler, Local 550 in Boston retiring in 1989 due to disability. He was a life member of the Elks Lodge 371, V.F.W. Post 832 and the Past Time Club. He was a member of Holy Cross Church.

He will be sadly missed by his wife, Claire. He earned the pride and respect of two sons, Dale J. Erskine and his companion Marie Bongiovanni of Lebanon, Pa., and Dana A. Erskine and his wife Linda of Bath. The love of two granddaughters, Jennalyn Erskine of Bath and her companion Joseph Burke Jr. and Alaina Erskine-Andreotti and her husband Michael of Brunswick; two great-grandchildren, Steven and Leah Andreotti brought him great joy; two sisters, Mrs. Melinda Fraser and Mrs. Marcel (Jackie) Larrivee of Lewiston.

He was predeceased by five brothers, Albert, Ozzie, Rene, Leo and Gerard; and three sisters, Yvonne, Lucille and Irene. He will be remembered by all for his dry wit, sharing nature and his commitment to his family.
