RUMFORD – Police will be out in force here on the Fourth of July, Sgt. Stacy Carter said.

“The whole department will be in on the Fourth and we’ll have extra people in over the rest of the weekend doing saturation patrols,” Carter said about Rumford’s law enforcement efforts to curb drunken driving.

Unlike Memorial Day weekend, there are no late night roadblocks planned, just extra patrols.
