1927 – 2003

LEWISTON – Pauline “Polly” Jasper, 75, of Canton, died Friday evening, July 4, at Central Maine Medical Center, Lewiston.

She was born Aug. 28, 1927, in Canton, the daughter of Ralph and Maud Cumming Cambell. She received her education in Canton schools, graduating in 1945 from Canton High School.

On April 13, 1947, she married Walter Jasper Jr. He died in 1990.

For 40 years, she was employed at local drug and variety stores. She was a former member of the Canton Mother’s Club and the Evergreen Chapter OES.

Her hobbies included, reading, knitting, sewing and gardening. As a devoted and loving wife, mother and friend, her favorite time was when she was in the company of those whom she loved and who loved her in return.

She is survived by five daughters, Gail Jasper of Bowdoin, Melinda Felt and her husband Lindon of Dixfield, Alisa Austin and her husband James, Annette Spear and her husband George, and Wanda DePalma and her husband Robert, all of Canton; grandchildren, Jay, Nathan, Erin, Amber, Shiloh, Abigayle and Francelia; three great-grandchildren, Brenden, Jordon and Noah; four brothers, Ralph, Frank, Neil and Sheldon; two sisters, Annie Chamberlin of Massachusetts, and Marguerite Packard of Connecticut.

She was predeceased by her husband; one daughter, Marlene Jasper; three grandchildren, Heather, Annie and Harry Walter; one brother, Carlton Campbell; one sister, Eleanor Campbell; and beloved sister-in-law, Gwen Campbell.
