PORTLAND (AP) – A Biddeford man convicted of federal firearms crimes has been sentenced to 17 years in prison.
Delon J. Adams, 31, was sentenced Thursday in U.S. District Court for felonious possession of a firearm and carrying a firearm during a drug trafficking crime.
Adams was arrested in March 2002 after Biddeford police found a 9 mm Ruger semiautomatic pistol and packaging for a second gun in his apartment.
With multiple felony convictions in Arizona, Adams was prohibited by federal law from having guns.
Witnesses at his trial testified that Adams used a gun on at least two occasions to rob individuals of small amounts of drugs and money.
The prison sentence will be followed by five years of supervised release.
