MEXICO – Planners last week approved a new used car business for the Route 2

area, and granted permission for the construction of a two-car garage at a Meadow Road site.

Planning Board Chairman Dan Casey said Bill Ruff, who operates a used car business on Spruce Street in Rumford, will soon open a second used car business in Mexico.

Ruff recently leased an .8-acre parcel adjacent to the Big Apple along Route 2 from John Durland. Casey said Ruff will offer about a dozen used vehicles at the site. The business is expected to open within a few weeks.

The board also granted approval to Frank Swett to build a new two-car garage adjacent to his home on Meadow Road.

In other matters, Casey said all permits have been granted and construction nearly completed for the new Dexter building supply business located across Route 2 from the Big Apple. The business is expected to open within the next few weeks.
