FREDERICTON, New Brunswick (AP) – Someone has stolen a pair of cameras that contain pictures and video of an American teen who was killed by lightning, police said.

Sarah Elizabeth McLain, of Springfield, Maine, died Sunday after being hit by lightning near the end of a championship game.

As McLain was being taken to hospital, someone broke into a vehiclee and made off with a number of items, including the video camera.

The cameras were used during a game earlier in the day, but were not used during the game in which the lightning struck.

Fredericton police officer Peter Vail says the person who took the cameras should turn them in.
