LEWISTON – Jerry Romeo Leger, the son of Lynn and Jaqueline Leger of Lewiston, was commissioned as an ensign in the U.S. Navy on May 10 and graduated on May 11 from Norwich University in Northfield, Vt.
Leger received, with high honors, a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering and minor in business administration. A dean’s list student, he was a member of the men’s cross country team, a two-time conference championship team, lettering all three years becoming captain his senior year.
Leger competed in intramural ice hockey, a team that won the intramural championship twice while he was involved. In his senior year. He was inducted into the Tau Beta Pi Association, an engineering honor society. He is a 1991 graduate of Lewiston High School.
Leger’s future holds orders to report to Pensacola, Fla., where he will be trained as a an aviator.
Sheree Laurette Leger, the daughter of Lynn and Jaqueline Leger of Lewiston, graduated May 17 from Endicott College in Beverly, Mass.
Sheree received, with honors, a nachelor of science degree in business administration with a concentration in marketing and minor in psychology. A dean’s list student, she was a member of the women’s cross country running and lacrosse teams becoming captain of the cross country team her senior year.
Sheree earned her letter for each sport and received two coach’s awards as well as a most valuable player award. She was a member of the Campus Activities Board, Outing Club and completed five internships while at Endicott. Sheree also competed in intramural floor hockey and soccer. She is a 1999 graduate of Lewiston High School.
Sheree plans to reside in Boston, gain experience in her field and attend graduate school.
