1924 – 2003

LEWISTON – Jane G. Howard, 79, a resident of 37 Delcliff, Lewiston died Friday morning, July 25, at her residence following a short illness.

She was born in Lewiston, Feb. 14, 1924, the daughter of Edward T. and Rose (Reagan) Goff. She attended St. Patrick’s Grammar School, and was a 1942 graduate of Lewiston High School. Following high school, she worked as a telephone operator for New England Telephone Co. in Lewiston and then became a business office representative until her retirement.

Mrs. Howard was a life long member of St. Patrick’s Church where she served as a eucharistic minister for several years.

She was a member of the Rosary Sodality, and the Woman’s Literary Union in Auburn.

Survivors include her husband, H. Gordon Howard whom she married, Sept. 9, 1950 of Lewiston; one son, G. Kevin Howard and his wife, Rebecca of Acton, Mass.; one daughter, Lisa J. Howard of Lewiston; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Barbara V. Goff of Auburn, and Mrs. Gladys Goff of White River Junction, Vt.; and many nieces and nephews.

She was also anxiously awaiting the birth of their first grandchild in October.

She was predeceased by three brothers, Francis, Edward, and Philip Goff.
