STRATTON – A Stratton man was charged with stalking and having unlawful sexual contact with a 15-year-old girl.

David Coffren, 19, was arrested Saturday.

Franklin County Detective David St. Laurent said the girl and her mother contacted the sheriff’s office about the incident.

The detective met with the girl and her mother on July 18, and the teenager alleged that from the beginning of July through July 18 or 19, there was an ongoing confrontation with Coffren, St. Laurent said.

“She alleged he had unlawful sexual contact with her and besides that he was stalking her,” the detective said. Coffren was an acquaintance of the girl from the Stratton/Eustis area, he said.

St. Laurent said Coffren was charged with the misdemeanor charges and taken to Franklin County jail. He posted bail of $5,000 unsecured bail Saturday. Release conditions include no contact with the victim and her family. He has an Aug. 21 court date in Farmington.
