Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class Blaine Olmstead, son of Becky J. Olmstead of Topsham, received a Letter of Appreciation while assigned at Naval Air Station, Joint Reserve Base, Willow Grove, Pa.

Olmstead was recognized for his superior performance of duty. The citation said that displaying dedication and initiative, Olmstead consistently performed his demanding duties in an exemplary and highly professional manner.

Olmstead joined the Navy in October 2000.
